Tried installing Streams, but it looks like it needs php version 8. I am on Debian stable with php version 7.4, and I am not confident that I want to try to move the requisite mountains to try to increase the version.

Bearing down upon the laggyness within Epicyon. I redid the profiling code and added graphs to show how much time different things take. Now I'm making the slow things faster.

Replaced my aging wifi router with its closed firmware something different running openwrt. This should be a much more reliable and maintainable solution.

The privacy settings in Roadhouse remind me that I need a setting for mentions by strangers in Epicyon. Right now mentions by strangers are allowed provided that they're not blocked or filtered, but that could also potentially be a securily hole because adversaries could be coming from arbitrary unknown instances.

I notice that posts from my other instance only come through if I mention the handle here. Nothing #Public is shown.

This might be something in the privacy model of Roadhouse.

Maybe after years of being in their bunkers the various socnets will become compatible via ActivityPub.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking though.

The follow request did turn up eventually. It might just be that Roadhouse sends them out in a batch every so often.

I think it might have been due to an unrelated bug on the Epicyon side, which was causing a crash and so messing with the inbox processing.
